Zimbabwe A Prepare for Seven-Match Ireland A Series

Zimbabwe A will have an opportunity to test their strength against international opposition when Ireland A visit the country for a seven-match series running from 5 to 27 November.

Zimbabwe Cricket confirmed the home assignment, which will feature two four-day matches and five one-day encounters across three venues in Harare.

The series is expected to provide valuable competitive experience for players hoping to break into Zimbabwe’s senior national team, while giving selectors an opportunity to assess emerging talent against visiting opposition.

Zimbabwe Cricket managing director Givemore Makoni said the tour was an important part of the organisation’s efforts to strengthen the country’s cricketing depth.

Makoni said such assignments allow players pushing for national selection to test themselves against international opposition, demonstrate their readiness for higher-level competition and continue their development.

He added that Zimbabwe Cricket looked forward to welcoming Ireland A, with the series expected to benefit players from both sides.

Harare Sports Club will host the two four-day matches, with the opening game scheduled for 5 to 8 November before the teams meet again from 12 to 15 November. Both matches will begin at 10am.

The action will then move to Takashinga Cricket Club for the first three one-day encounters on 18, 20 and 22 November, all starting at 9:30am.

Old Hararians Sports Club will host the final two one-day matches on 25 and 27 November, also with 9:30am starts.

The combination of longer-format and one-day cricket will give Zimbabwe A players an opportunity to showcase their skills across different formats. Strong performances could also strengthen their cases for future selection into the senior national side.

For Ireland A, the visit offers a chance to compete away from home and gain further experience against Zimbabwean opposition.

With seven matches scheduled over three weeks, the tour promises an extended period of competitive cricket and an important assessment opportunity for players from both teams.
