Scottland Beat CAPS United to Boost PSL Title Hopes as Green Machine Slip to Fourth

CAPS United suffered a major setback in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League title race after dropping to fourth place on the standings following a 2-0 defeat to Scottland at the National Sports Stadium on Sunday.
The Green Machine went into Matchday 15 at the top of the table but were overtaken after a disappointing result in a match played at the newly reopened National Sports Stadium, which hosted top-flight football for the first time in three years following major renovations.
Scottland made a fast start and took the lead in the 11th minute through Knowledge Musona, who capitalised on early pressure to put the visitors in control.
The advantage was doubled just a minute after the restart when Panashe Mutimbanyoka struck early in the second half to seal a strong performance for Scottland.
The result lifted Mabviravira into second place on the table, strengthening their title challenge, while CAPS United slipped down the standings after failing to respond.
Elsewhere, Highlanders continued their upward climb after defeating Hunters 2-1 at Barbourfields Stadium. Bosso secured the win through goals from Malvern Sibanda and Benjamin Odeyugun, with a disciplined performance across both halves.
At the bottom end of the table, TelOne dropped to last place after a 1-0 defeat to Agama, who moved out of the relegation zone with a crucial victory.
ZPC Kariba earned a narrow 1-0 win over Chicken Inn at Nyamhunga Stadium, while Herentals recorded a surprise 1-0 away victory over FC Platinum. Simba Bhora and Triangle United shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw in a match where Triangle finished with 10 men but still managed to equalise.
