Hardrock Return to Summit as Dynamos Denied Late in Dramatic Matchday 16 Action

Hardrock FC reclaimed top spot in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League after a commanding 3-0 victory over Simba Bhora at Chahwanda Stadium on Sunday.

The hosts were inspired by 2025 Soccer Star of the Year and Golden Boot winner Washington Navaya, who marked his return from Unity Cup duty in style with a first-half brace.

Navaya opened the scoring in the 33rd minute before doubling Hardrock’s advantage ten minutes later to give his side a comfortable 2-0 lead at half-time.

Hardrock remained in control after the break and sealed maximum points in the 75th minute when Samuel Makawa added a third goal to complete a dominant performance and send the hosts back to the summit of the league standings.

At Sakubva Stadium, Dynamos were left heartbroken after conceding a dramatic stoppage-time equaliser in a thrilling 2-2 draw against Manica Diamonds.

The Gem Boys took the lead in the 25th minute when Russell Kahiki capitalised on a scramble inside the penalty area to make it 1-0. Manica Diamonds continued to threaten and thought they had doubled their lead through Charles Teguru, but his effort was ruled out for offside.

Dynamos responded strongly after the break and found their equaliser in the 54th minute through Perfect Chikwende.

The Harare giants then completed the turnaround in the 71st minute when substitute Demera fired home to make it 2-1.
With victory seemingly within reach, Dynamos were forced to settle for a point when Charles Teguru struck deep into stoppage time, scoring in the 90+6th minute to rescue Manica Diamonds and extend the hosts’ unbeaten run to six matches.

Meanwhile, Capc united win 3-2 victory over ZPC Kariba at Rufaro Stadium. Ishmael Wadi scored twice, including a stoppage-time penalty, while Takunda Benhura also found the net as Makepekepe climbed to third place on the table.

Elsewhere, FC Platinum secured a narrow 1-0 win over Triangle United at Gibbo Stadium thanks to Oscar Bhebhe’s second-half strike.
