Zimbabwe Step Up Preparations Ahead of Multi-Format Bangladesh Series

The hard work continues as Zimbabwe step up their preparations ahead of a demanding multi-format home series against Bangladesh scheduled for June and July.
Zimbabwe will host the Asian side for a full tour that includes one Test match, three One-Day Internationals (ODIs), and three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is), in what is expected to be a key assignment in their international calendar.

The tour will begin with a five-day Test match at Harare Sports Club from 28 June to 2 July, where Zimbabwe will look to continue building on their recent progress in red-ball cricket and strengthen their home advantage.

After the Test battle in Harare, attention will shift to the ODI series, with all three matches scheduled to be played at the same venue on 6, 9 and 11 July. The limited-overs leg will provide both teams with an opportunity to test depth and consistency in the 50-over format.

The series will then conclude in Bulawayo, where Queens Sports Club will host the three-match T20I series on 15, 17 and 19 July. The fast-paced fixtures are expected to attract strong local interest as fans return to international cricket action.

Zimbabwe and Bangladesh last met in a two-Test series in Bangladesh in 2025, which ended evenly at 1-1. That series is remembered for Zimbabwe’s impressive three-wicket victory, a result that ended a four-year wait for a Test win and marked one of their standout red-ball performances in recent seasons.

That win played a key role in restoring belief within the Zimbabwean camp and highlighted the team’s growing competitiveness against established international opposition.

The upcoming tour will also mark Zimbabwe’s first home international assignment of 2026, coming shortly after their participation in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup earlier this year, which was co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka.

With matches spread across Harare and Bulawayo, the series is expected to give Zimbabwean supporters a chance to witness high-quality international cricket while also providing the Chevrons with a valuable test across all three formats.

As preparations continue, focus will now turn to fine-tuning combinations, improving consistency, and building momentum ahead of a challenging but exciting series against Bangladesh.
