Daniel Msendami Reportedly Caught Up In Marumo Gallants Registration Setback

Zimbabwe international Daniel Msendami is reportedly facing an unexpected delay at Marumo Gallants after an administrative error left him and fellow new signing Abdoulaye Mariko unregistered for the Betway Premiership campaign.

According to a report by iDiski Times, the two players joined Gallants on loan from Orlando Pirates towards the end of the transfer window, but the club allegedly failed to complete their registration processes before the deadline.

As a result, neither Msendami nor Mariko is currently eligible to feature for the South African side. The report indicates that the next opportunity to register the pair will come when the transfer window reopens in January.

The situation is a setback for Msendami, who had been expected to add quality and experience to Gallants’ squad following his move from Orlando Pirates. His absence is particularly disappointing for a club that has struggled to find consistency during the opening stages of the season.

Gallants have reportedly lost six matches in the campaign and only secured their first victory last Friday, when they edged Siwelele 3-2. The club had hoped that the arrival of the two players would provide an additional boost as it seeks to improve its position in the league.

For Msendami, the reported registration problem also comes at a time when he remains part of Zimbabwe’s international plans. The forward is included in the Warriors’ squad for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Equatorial Guinea, giving him an opportunity to represent his country despite the uncertainty surrounding his club situation.

The Warriors are scheduled to face Equatorial Guinea in back-to-back qualifiers, with the first encounter set for 12 November in Yaoundé, Cameroon, before the return fixture in Zimbabwe on 16 November.

While Msendami’s immediate club future remains uncertain, the reported registration setback means he could be forced to wait until January before making his competitive debut for Gallants.

The development is an unwanted interruption for the Zimbabwean forward, who will be hoping to remain active at international level while awaiting clarity on his situation in South Africa.
